Privacy Policy

Swooshare is operated by IdeaBridge GmbH, a company registered in Germany. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.

The short version: We collect as little as possible. We don't require an account. We don't sell your data. We don't use your files for anything other than delivering them to your recipients.

What We Collect

Files you upload

When you share files through Swooshare, they are uploaded to Cloudflare R2 storage. Files are encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256). We do not access, view, scan, or analyze the contents of your files. Files are automatically deleted when their share link expires.

Device identifier

Swooshare generates a random device-based identifier on first launch. This is used to associate your shares with your device and enforce plan limits. It is not linked to your name, email, or Apple ID.

Share metadata

For each share, we store: file names, file sizes, upload timestamp, expiry date, and share settings (password protection, expiry). If you use email delivery, we store the recipient email address for that share.

Analytics (Pro and Ultra)

If you have analytics enabled (Pro and Ultra plans), we record when your share page is viewed and when files are downloaded. This data is shown to you in the app and is not shared with third parties.

Website analytics

Our website (swooshare.com) uses PostHog for anonymous usage analytics. This helps us understand how visitors use the site. PostHog is configured with person_profiles: 'identified_only', meaning we do not track individual visitors unless they explicitly identify themselves.

Payment information

Payments are processed by LemonSqueezy. We do not store credit card numbers or payment details. LemonSqueezy handles all payment processing and provides us with subscription status only.

What We Don't Collect

  • We don't require your name or email to use Swooshare
  • We don't track your location
  • We don't scan or analyze your files
  • We don't use your data for advertising
  • We don't sell or share your data with third parties
  • We don't use your files for AI training or any purpose beyond delivery

Where Your Data Is Stored

Files are stored on Cloudflare's global network (R2 storage). Cloudflare operates data centers worldwide. For EU users, file data may be stored in or routed through EU data centers, but we cannot guarantee exclusive EU storage due to Cloudflare's global architecture.

Data Retention

  • Files: Deleted automatically when the share link expires (7 days Free, 30 days Pro, no expiry Ultra)
  • Share metadata: Retained for the lifetime of the share, deleted with the files
  • Device identifier: Retained as long as you use the app
  • Payment records: Retained by LemonSqueezy per their retention policy

Your Rights (GDPR)

As a German company, we comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You have the right to:

  • Access your data — contact us and we'll provide what we have
  • Delete your data — contact us and we'll remove your device record and all associated shares
  • Export your data — your files are downloadable from your share links at any time
  • Object to processing — contact us with your concern

Children

Swooshare is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or on this page. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
